“ I was going downhill on Pine St (on Capital Hill). A bus was in the curb lane just West of Summit. A construction barrier and flashing yellow cones were on the NorthWest corner of the intersection. I continued around the bus. A car on Summit (heading southbound), pulled way beyond the stop sign, in order to see around the bus and the construction warning signs. Assuming no one was there, they nearly broadsided me. They had no idea they were pulling out into a bike lane. I swerved to avoid a collision with the vehicle and crashed in the wet road. Two witnesses came to my aid. I was able to walk away from the crash, but immediately sought medical attention for the contusion/abrasion on my hip in order to rule out possible fracture. ”
