“ I was using the Dearborn bike lanes heading west into downtown on my daily commute from Bellevue. I was cruising at about 20 mph, when I was right-hooked by someone turning into Chinatown. Since I could see the person making the turn, I was braking as hard as I could, but still collided with back of the car. The driver did not stop, and was probably unaware that he hit a bicyclist. The accident was witnessed by another cyclist, and I got his name and phone number. I reported the incident to SPD. No action was taken.
Surprise: I do not use the Dearborn bike lanes in that direction any more. I'm still leary of Dearborn in that direction in general. ”
