“ Riding southbound in left lane of QA Avenue (one way street), just south of Mercer Street. Parked car on left side of street pulled out into traffic lane in front of me. Driver did not signal or pull out slowly--she just accelerated out from the curb. I collided with right rear side/fender of car. Driver did stop. I asked a witness to phone 911. When police officer came, the driver tried to blame the accident on a van parked in the loading zone behind her. She claimed the she 'couldn't see, so had to just pull out'(!). Witnesses (drivers in the van) gave me their info and told me they'd testify against her.She was given a minor ticket (failure to yield?).
Medics came and checked me out. They put on a few bandages.I never sued her, but she agreed to pay me $100 (or so) for a new helmet. ”
